Questions worth asking

Is this legal advice?

No. MedScan is a pre-submission review tool — it flags likely violations with citations so you can fix them before carrier and CMS review. Your carrier's compliance team and CMS still make the final call, and nothing here replaces counsel.

How current is the ruleset?

Versioned to CY2026–CY2027 and maintained against the eCFR — including the 2025–2026 changes (SHIP wording removed, 48-hour SOA hold eliminated, retention reduced, compensation caps vacated). Stale checklists flag rolled-back rules; MedScan doesn't.

Does it cover Medicare Supplement (Medigap)?

Not at launch. Medigap advertising is regulated state-by-state under NAIC rules — a separate system. MedScan covers Medicare Advantage and Part D, where the federal CMS rules apply.

Will carriers accept my piece after a scan?

The preflight checklist mirrors what carrier reviewers look for — disclaimer wording, prohibited terms, contact-info standards, filing metadata. Carriers still run their own review; MedScan's job is making sure you clear it on the first pass.
